Barbara Myers submitted her written report: July has been a relatively slow month all activities and expenditures are within the normal budget guidelines. There has been one capital expenditure a new dishwasher purchased by Dar Stoffer as Operations Chair, for the clubhouse and at a very substantial saving. Thank-you Dar! It is installed and working so any members using it should see an improvement in the results. We have had a reduction in our power costs since Puget Sound Energy changed rates. The rates went up but are lower than the interim rates in place before the rate increase. Rather strange but a happy event.Jackie Granger submitted her written report At 58% of the year complete LISE has expended only 56% of the budget.ADMINISTRATION: Lucy Bain stated that everything has been collated for the previous committee and is ready for presentation even though she has not been able to retrieve the notes from the committee’s first meeting. Neva Buechner and Lucy Bain will go over their notes and then print it for distribution to the Board. Lucy Bain continued that the committee will hopefully meet this week and a report will be submitted regarding that meeting. MARINE:

The County is aware of the problem and is following the situation closely. Continuing contact will be maintained until the situation has been rectified. Jackie Granger stated that information had been received from the consultant but clarification of the details is needed before presentation to the Board. Discussion followed. No new financial investment opportunities will be investigated. Bob Bowman asked about the sign that was at the entrance of LISECC. Jackie Granger stated that there has been some discussion with the county and more discussion needs to occur. Jackie Granger will be going into the county offices prior to the next meeting. Bob Bowman stated that there are several trailers have been brought into Scenic Estates recently. Jackie Granger stated that letters were written by LISECC to the potential owners requesting information and informing of the existing bylaws. Bob
Bowman stated the survey sent out with the Summer Newsletter has shown
a problem. Jackie Granger stated that a number of surveys appear to be
returned which are not original and now the integrity of the survey results
cannot be ensured. Darlene Stoffer suggested that a new survey be sent
out with an embossed marking to authenticate the surveys upon return. Ricardo
Camarillo stated that we could print numbers on it. Discussion followed.
A new survey will be sent out with the Fall Newsletter.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Bob Bowman opened for discussion the handicap parking spot. Bob Bowman stated that because LISECC is a private organization LISECC does not have to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The fear is that if a handicap stall is in place then it may require us to put in ramps and special bathroom facilities which would place extreme financial hardship on LISECC. Ricardo Camarillo stated that the exemption applies but if it is requested then the organization must comply. Discussion followed. Ricardo Camarillo will bring some information to the next meeting. There
being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am.
Next meeting will be September 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. To Return to Page 1 Click Here |
