SOCIAL, Submitted by Chair, Leslie Quento: 
What a fund raiser and Retirement Dinner we had!  Bob and Darlene were presented with parting gifts and members had a chance to say thank you to them for their many years of service to the community.  So many members and their guests showed up to partake of the wonderful food, conversation and laughter.  We sold a whopping 68 dinners!  The hot dogs were cooked to perfection, the salads were delicious and the desserts to die for!  It turned out to be a wonderful evening.  Even the weather cooperated and was sunny and warm. 
I would like to thank the following friends and neighbors who helped put this together with donations and/or plain slave labor………Larry Graves and his son Kevin for their outstanding job of bar-b-cueing almost a hundred hot dogs, Bob and Audrey Bowman, Jack and JoAnn Bowman, Ron and Lucy Bain, Julie and Kris Olson, Martha Patterson, Mike and Gail Mitchell, Marlene and Mark Sexton, Greg and Julie Egsti, Bruce and Gail Livingstone, Jan Bonaparte, Barbara and Larry Myers, Chuck and Anya Ortego, Mark and Julie Hunter, Al and Nina Coghill, Marge and Bob Warner, Nora Dybdahl, Dietrich Neuman, Jackie and Todd Granger, Darlene Stoffer, Chelsea Quento, Caitlin O’Callaghan, Ray Stewart, Fred and Collette Dryden and Hal Holmerud.  I know I’ve left out some members. I was so overwhelmed by the turnout and the help that I can’t remember the rest of the names.  A big thank you to Julie and Kris who stayed long after to help me and Mom clean up down to the final crumb, and for the good conversation and laughter on the deck when the job was finished.  A wonderful way to wind down from a busy evening.
Just a reminder to everyone about the August Crab and Corn feed on August 21, 2004.  Starts at 6:30pm.  Watch for the announcement on the blackboard.  There will be a raffle at this Social, so be prepared!  Also bring your crab crackers if you have any.  Those shells get kind of tough!  See you all in August……..
