AGM Luncheon April 10, 2004 The Annual AGM Luncheon was a semi success. Not as many people took part in the goodies we had to offer. It’s too bad because they missed out on some really good food. I would like to thank Audrey Bowman, JoAnn Bowman, Hal Holmerud, Frankie Small, Marg Warner, Nora Dybdahl, Lucy Bain, Meredith Moench, and Kara Mech for their food donations, and Marlene Sexton for her dedication as cashier. I would also like to thank the others personally who donated food, but unfortunately I have no idea who they are. So to whoever else donated goodies, I thank you very much. I would also like to thank my daughter Chelsea and Audrey Bowman for their help in the kitchen during the lunch rush. All proceeds from the luncheon are going towards the July 4th Canada Day Social potluck on July 3rd. The July 4th Social will also be a fund raiser. We will be having hot dogs, potato and macaroni salad, beans, chips and desserts for $2.00/plate. All monies raised will be used to fund the August Crab and Corn Feed, another fund raiser. We’ve had to move the Crab Feed Potluck Social to August 21st due to crab season not opening soon enough. I will be looking for volunteers to make salads and desserts for July. If you would like to donate food or your energy in helping to prepare food, please give me a call or e-mail me. By the way, my daughter Chelsea pointed out an error I'd made in my report on the Christmas Party. I'd forgotten to include the fact that Tom Christianson and Neva Beuchner had put all the lights up around the windows. I'm so sorry for that. Tom and Neva I thank you again. I look forward to seeing you all at the next Social! Leslie

NATURAL DISASTER: I met with Marc Titus regional director for the North West, Washington State, Department of Natural Resources on Monday the 3rd May. We did a tour and he was very pleased with what he saw happening in Scenic Estates and the planned work party on the 8th May, he will be here to help us with the chipper on the 15th and 16th May. I hope all of the membership response to cleaning all the debris laying around, as it looks like it is going to be a VERY dry summer with 1/8 th of an inch of rain recorded in one part of Scenic Estates last month, it is becoming a fire hazard already and we could have a fire ban real early this year. I contacted the Lummi Island fire department about CPR classes, as a member had asked me about them. If we could get more members to attend this class it could be arranged, just let me know. 16th
