MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING
September 19, 2004
(Subject to approval and correction at the Board of Directors’ Meeting on 
October 17, 2004)

Fire Department), Mark Titus (Department of Natural Resources).

CALL TO ORDER: by President Jack Mulhern at 10:18 a.m.
PRESENT: Ron Bain, Greg Eigsti, Laura Mork, Jack Mulhern, Martha Patterson, Mark Sexton, and Louise Weber
EXCUSED: Linda Bowman, Treasurer
STAFF PRESENT: Jackie Granger
VOTING STATUS: All board members present are in good standing.

PRESENTATION OF FIREWISE COMMUNITIES PLAQUE  – Mark Titus from the Department of Natural Resources discussed the efforts and accomplishment of this community over the past several years.  Lummi Island Scenic Estates Community Club, Inc. has been recognized by the National FireWise Program to be a Firewise USA Community. It is the 2nd community in Washington to be recognized and there are currently only 3 in the entire state. A plaque was presented and accepted by Frankie Small, LISE FireWise Chair.

MINUTES:

2004/9/1 M.  Ron Bain 2nd   Laura Mork    “approve the minutes of the last meeting as amended below.” Passed Unanimously. Referring to the August 15, 2004 Board of Directors Meeting.
Change paragraph following approval of minutes of previous meeting to read:
Louise Weber wished to have it noted that at the July 18, 2004 meeting that prior to leaving the meeting that she had submitted a written objection to the circumstance discussed and voted on in motion 2004/7/6. Also, motion 2004/7/7 should have stated that this was a “suspected” violation.

COMMUNICATIONS:
Lisa Letchworth, Joy Krell
 

2004/9/2 M. Ron Bain 2nd  Laura Mork “accept the request from Joy Krell to waive fees on clubhouse use to sponsor an AARP 55 Alive Driving Class with the proviso that they will take appropriate setup and cleanup duties and the class does not conflict with any other clubhouse bookings or commitments and with maximum attendance of 50. Any non-member attendees must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement.” Passed. For: Martha Patterson, Laura Mork, Louise Weber, Mark Sexton, Ron Bain. Abstained: Greg Eigsti. 
 
COMMITTEE REPORTS

SOCIAL COMMITTEE:
Jack Mulhern reported that the August Crab and Corn Feed was a grand event and a great value for $4. Discussion followed.
