Learn how to Firewise your own home and have fun making our neighborhood a safer place.

Everyone is welcome to the Swim Lake Cabana for Wildfire Prep Day. At 10:00 am Scott Josiah, retired Nebraska state forester and director of the Nebraska Forest Service, will speak about Firewise in our area. Then we will make a practice of the Cabana area, learning Firewise techniques that you can take back to your own home. Volunteers are invited to the Swim Lake to help remove fallen limbs and other debris around the Cabana.

The first Saturday in May is Wildfire Community Preparedness Day. Lummi Island Scenic Estates has been a Firewise Community since 2003. Learn more about about Firewise here.
