JIM COATS

I am interested in sitting on the board of Scenic Estates. Who in their right mind wants to sit on committees? I do. When I was a teacher/administrator, I brought more to the table than just academics. I can do more than parse sentences and quote Shakespeare. I was also the ranch hand, rugby player, and ditch digger. I was also a father and a product of the public school system. My experiential realm is fairly broad, and ultimately everything is connected. I’m new to Lummi, but I’m very clear on why Lummi is so dear. If we try hard enough, we can keep our island home special, even in this time of change. I like people in general, and I enjoy working with others to figure out how to make things work. I like having input into policy and procedures, even when my ideas are dashed. I don’t have big plans or visions, but I have a modicum of common sense and a background in logistics. If there is room for me, I would be honored to share my strengths and insights with other community-minded folks.

WILLIAM ENOCH

I've been a full-time island resident for a year now having finished building my cabin two years ago and am retired from Non-Profit Organization financial management and various stints as a boat builder, city manager, clinical laboratory technologist, and bookstore owner. I am passionate about this incredible place where we live and would welcome the support of the community to continue serving on the Board.

SHARLEEN PEITSCH-TYERMAN

My years in health care have provided me many experiences in interdisciplinary team membership. Working with other health care professionals has allowed a development of responsibility and accountability which has transferred well to my board position as Chair of Administration. I have found during my years in supervision that flexibility and compassion are necessary elements when dealing with people, regardless of them being staff or patients. In addition, my Faith Community Nursing has provided many an opportunity to hear the voice of those who need to be heard.

I have enjoyed serving on the LISECC Board of Directors as the Chair of Administration for the 2018/2020 term. As my portfolio included overseeing the LISECC Governing Documents, my focus this past term centered around updating these Documents, providing the Scenic Estate membership with a newly revised and restated, fully comprehensive version of our Part IV Bylaws.

I am seeking re-election for the 2020/2022 term and if re-elected, will continue to serve diligently and whole heartedly.

BEN TWIGG

Ben is a full-time resident of Scenic Estates, moving from Bellingham to Cedar Ave in early 2018. He joined the LISE board in mid-2018 and currently serves as Vice President, Finance Chair, and Treasurer. Professionally, Ben is the Finance Director at RE Sources in Bellingham and has extensive experience with small business accounting and nonprofit management. Personally, he loves family time at/near home, working on (too many!) projects, and various outdoor activities.
